Fulfilled Promises

May 5th, 2014 by traxlerssurfside

The construction side of the new Traxlers Surfside Cottage is now completed, as promised by the contractor, as of May 1, 2014.  After spending the week getting the cabin set up and ready for use, Debi and I are very pleased to have the cabin ready (as promised) for my parents (Cal and Beverly) to be able to spend their 69th Wedding Anniversary there today (May 5).  They spent their honeymoon at the original one room cabin on this site in 1945, and have spent the majority of their anniversaries here ever since.  Our goal from the beginning of the project was to fulfill this promise, and with the great work of Jack Mobley our contractor, cooperation from the weather, and all other things construction related, the folks are at present enjoying their day of promise to each other.   From then to now, the cabin has now changed dramatically, but the soul of this place lives on.momdad-1             momdad-2

First Visitor

Traxlers Surfside Cottage had it’s first visitor, however, the deposit he made didn’t make it to the bank.  Contractor humor aside, progress is being made towards our scheduled May completion date.  Interior trim is painted, cabinets installed and awaiting granite tops starting tomorrow.  Flooring is scheduled for the end of next week.  The views from the interior of the cabin are even better than those of the “original” cabin, and the enthusiasm projected from the construction team makes us very excited for the completed project.  Patience is a very difficult virtue at this point of the construction process.  We hope to have some interior photos very soon.
